WACHAU ERLESEN
19.00 at the Hotel Donauterrasse Aggsbach Dorf
Since 2002, the duo Soyka Stirner has developed novel delicacies based on the sizzling genre of Old Viennese „Schrammelmusik‟. Walther Soyka (accordion) and Karl Stirner (zither) combine Viennese ethnic music and improvisation. The Old Viennese waltz and march, according to Ernst Molden, meander along with two Rock'n'Rollers and undergo a refreshing revival. These sounds make the Viennese Night dark and appealing!

EUROPEAN FORMAT
11.00 at the Literaturhaus Niederösterreich
Maciej Golebiowski hails from Poland and Aleksander Shevchenko from Russia. Both studied music and arrived in Austria ten years ago. Their Klezmerinterpretationen evolve in the spirit of improvisation, interspersed with echoes of Jewish folk music. Golebiowski‟s clarinet leads beautifully astray in fabulous improvisations and he even occasionally bursts into song with a Polish tango! Shevchenko‟s accordion responds with compact and melodious song phrases that seem never intended to stop.

THIRD EUROPEAN LITERATURE DAYS IN SPITZ AN DER DONAU
from approx. 21.00 at Schloss Spitz
„Das Beckwerk‟ stands for Claus Beck-Nielsen who issued his own obituary in 2001. Claus Beck-Nielsen (born 1963) was originally a Danish playwright, actor, musician and author. Since 2011, in private and public he only appears under the name Das Beckwerk.
As of 17 January 2011, notice was given on the website of Das Beckwerk that all employees were made redundant and the site was closed – this marked the founding of “Das Beckwerk Museum”.
This is all open to interpretation – Claus Beck-Nielsen alias Das Beckwerk alias Das Beckwerk Museum gives captivating performances and concerts – and will appear during the European Literature Days 2011 as the sole entertainer: Somebody Solo in attendance at the literary festival at Schloss Spitz.

THIRD EUROPEAN LITERATURE DAYS IN SPITZ AN DER DONAU
11.00
Since 2000, Michael Bruckner-Weinhuber and Fabian Pollack have collaborated on a reinterpretation of traditional Wachau folk music. In late 2001, they first met Wolfgang Kühn. The ensemble ZUR WACHAUERIN was finally established in early 2002. The name ZUR WACHAUERIN is taken from the title of a song text by Professor Ernst Schandl, resident court composer at Wachau. His music forms a rich repertoire for the trio.
The legendary performance at “Glatt & Verkehrt” 2005 in Krems on the same bill as "Die Strottern" was first released in 2006 as a live soundtrack by Non Food Factory. ZUR WACHAUERIN are currently appearing with their new programme “in meina wöd”, which includes their new interpretation of famous sagas, legends and myths and a number of their own compositions. In 2010, the CD with the same title was released by ORF / Ö1.
ZUR WACHAUERIN are Michael Bruckner-Weinhuber and Fabian Pollack on guitar und Wolfgang Kühn (voice).
The band will perform live at the brunch for the European Literature Days 2011 with Barbi Markovic, a young Serbian author, who spent the evenings strolling through Belgrade with Thomas Bernhard in a book Ausgehen.
